Purchased images include Lucier Photo. Privately developed images come from Van Doran Photo Shop, and the Lorimor Studio. These pictures and postcards were most likely purchased or taken on a trip to Yellowstone as souviners.
MS 591- Glenda Bell Collection
MS 592 - Roger Schauer Collection
The collection includes a photograph album of early twentieth century life in Montana. The years in the album range from 1919 to 1930 and the subjects of the photograph appear to all be apart of the same family. The pictures are of the town in Montana that they lived in, significant moments in their lives, and trips to Yellowstone and dude ranches in Wyoming.
MS 593 - Yellowstone Photograph Collection
MS 594 - John "Johnnie D" Hopkins Collection
This collection contains the indictment of the John "Johnnie D" Hopkins. John Hopkins was charged with "unlawfully and willfully" branding one head of cattle with the brand NΛY. The indictment shows the rising tensions that happened in the years leading up to the Johnson County War. In 1884 the Maverick Law was passed in the Wyoming Territory, making cattle ranching hard for smaller ranchers. The Maverick Law was one of the tipping points to the Johnson County War in 1892.
