Postcard – No. 210 – Jupiter Terrace, Mammoth Hot Springs, Yellowstone National Park; The largest travertine terrace in the Park. Its brilliant hues are seen to the best advantage from the roadway that skirts its base. Azure hot springs of wonderful transparency crown the top.

Postcard – No. 216 – Fish Cone in Yellowstone Lake, Yellowstone National Park; This hot water cone, perhaps the most celebrated of all the minor phenomena in the Park, is at the Thumb. Here, as Chittenden says: “the unfortunate trout find catching and cooking painfully near together.”

Postcard – No. 226 – The Sponge, Yellowstone National Park; On Geyser Hill in Upper Basin, is the “Sponge”—so called from its close resemblance to an enormous sponge. Its steaming contents and porous walls attract the attention of all tourists.

Postcard – No. 227 – Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel, Yellowstone National Park; This imposing structure—located across the plaza from Fort Yellowstone—is the first of the six Park hotels. In appointments and table service they are all the peer of hotels at other resorts.
