Postcard – No. 29225 – The summit on the Beartooth Hi-way Montana North East Entrance to Yellowstone Park. “The summit, elevation 10,942 feet above sea level; more than 300 feet higher than Mount Washburn in Yellowstone National Park. 32 lakes can be seen from near this point. Wildflowers are in abundance along the highway and this is truly on “Top of the World”. Postcard – No. 29381 – Land of the Shining Mountains near Red Lodge, Mont. North East Entrance to Yellowstone Park. “Approaching the Land of the Shining Mountains taken 27 miles from Red Lodge on Hi-way 12; On the plateau in early spring, just after the Beartooth hi-way has been opened for travel. Many of these snow fields remain throughout the summer and it is a common sight to see tourists snowballing in July and August.
